  IRC (needs to be ported to the wiki!)
Anyone Who Has mIRC If you already have mIRC then just click on the following link, mIRC should pop open. Follow the on screen instructions and you will automatically be onto our new server. Anyone Who Doesn't First you download mIRC at their website. You press Download on the left side and chose a download link. Run the installer and install mIRC. Open mIRC. You should see a connection box. Fill in the fields as the screen instructs you to do so. After filling out all the proper fields press OK. Then go back and click on that link at the top, mIRC should open. Follow the on screen instructions. To Join Manually If that link is not working for some reason or another, you will have to type the following command into the mIRC window: /server irc.lod-squared.net -j #HALFLIFEportal. That will take you the channel if you wish to do it this way. Server Information [b]Temporarily not available[/b] [b]Channel Name: #HALFLIFEportal[/b] [b]Port: n/a[/b] Registering Your Nickname Once you get on the server the first thing you'll probably want to do is register your nickname. To do this type /nickserv register *Your Password* *Your email*. For example: /nickserv register thisismypassword sonecor@hotmail.com You don't have any e-mail validation, it's only there incase you forget your password. After you have done this you are registered. Common IRC Commands There are few regular commands that you will probably want to know to make your way around IRC. /join #channelname - Use this command to join channels /me - Example [b]/me jumps[/b] will appear *Sonecor Jumps /msg - Example /msg Sonecor Hi! will make a private message appear on Sonecor's screen.
